Blake Shelton opens up about going “all out” with Stefani and their family for the upcoming holiday. He talked to People about Thanksgiving and you can check the article below:

There’s no shortage of holiday cheer in the Shelton-Stefani household.

“I’ve already got my turkey bought. I got two turkeys put away in case there’s a shortage for some reason. We can do our whatever weird one we come up with, and then Gwen can make the [traditional recipe],” Blake Shelton — whose latest single “Texas” became the most-added new song on country radio after its release — tells PEOPLE exclusively about celebrating the upcoming holiday with wife Gwen Stefani.

Over the years, the couple have headed to Oklahoma with their extended families for a Thanksgiving extravaganza.

“We go all out for Thanksgiving. We’ve got a huge family, so we feel good about making a bunch of food. Normally, it’s like, ‘Oh damn, we’re already out of stuffing? How can that possibly be?'” says Shelton, 48. “We’re excited about it.”

While gathering loved ones under one roof can be chaotic, the country superstar says they only follow one rule: “Never say no to any kind of food. Whatever you want to try, I’ll try it. Just bring it on.”

And though it’s rare to have any food left at the end of the night, Shelton says he and Stefani get creative when it comes to repurposing their sides.

“I heard a guy on the radio a couple of years ago talk about if you have leftover stuffing, the next morning put it in your waffle iron and make those stuffing waffles,” he says. “Now I do that. Now I make enough that I know there’ll be some leftover.”

Shelton and Stefani have both been busy promoting new music, but the star says he’s looking forward to getting some downtime with loved ones.

“I love the fall. I love watching football. I’m still a huge Arizona Cardinals fan, and that’s my perfect day,” he says. “Last Sunday I told Gwen, ‘I’m having the best day.’ We had family over, cooked a good meal. My team won. It was like, ‘I want to have this day every day for the rest of my life.’ Just laid-back family and watching football.”

Recently, Gwen Stefani shared somethings about her relationship with Blake Shelton to People. She talked about the begining of their relationship, their bond in music and more. Check it out:

Gwen Stefani is looking back on her love story with Blake Shelton.

The pop icon, 55, and the country superstar, 48, first got together in 2015, when they were working as coaches on The Voice — and they each weathering divorces after splitting from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, respectively.

At the time, Stefani — who shares sons Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10, with ex Rossdale — was hesitant to dive into another relationship, despite her feelings for Shelton.

“We had just met, and it was chaos. Both of our lives were in complete turmoil, all over the ground. Nothing could save us at that point,” Stefani tells PEOPLE. “There was a point where I was like, ‘I can’t even talk to you. This is insane. I already have enough problems. This is not happening anymore. We’re not going to text or nothing.'”

Undeterred, Shelton eventually wooed Stefani back — with music.

“I think he really wanted to impress me, because he doesn’t really write songs as much as he used to. And I love writing songs. That’s everything to me. If I want to feel like I have any kind of purpose or any kind of value or anything, it’s about writing a song. That’s where I get my fulfillment,” she says.

Shelton then began writing what would become “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” a country duet he and Stefani released in 2016.

“He sent it to me, and it was a half-written song. He was like, ‘Help me finish this.’ So I wrote him the verse back — the second verse on the song — and it’s just over text,” she says. “That was our first song that we ever wrote together. We were never even in the same room, but we were writing a song to each other.”

These days, Stefani and Shelton are partners in life, as well as duets. The pair got married in 2021.

“Something that I wanted since I was a little girl is to be married and have this love that I saw my parents have and have babies. That dream was completely ruined; it was crushed, and I had to figure out how I was going to move forward and make a new dream,” she says, “and God putting Blake in my life was just that miracle.”

Over the past nine years, the pair have also worked on several more songs together, including “Purple Irises,” which appears on Stefani’s new album Bouquet (out now).

“We come from such different worlds. Our musical tastes are different, yet we do come together in this one place: We both love ’70s soft rock and yacht rock,” she says, adding that when they got together: “We would always play this game, and we would put on a song and say, ‘Do you know this one?’ And it would always be these ’70s songs.”

Their shared love of yacht rock ended up inspiring “Purple Irises,” a romantic song about Shelton that became a duet and informed the direction of Bouquet as a whole.

“He loved the song so much, he was like, ‘Save that one,'” she recalls.

Recently, to promote her new album, ‘Bouquet’, Gwen Stefani spoke to The Circle, a deutch blog, about various subjects, including Blake Shelton. Check it out below:

The beauty of Bouquet is that it has that warm feeling that characterizes all timeless pop records. How did the process of making it differ from all the other albums you’ve made?

Everything in my past has an individual, unique story. I enjoy reliving it and remembering what was going on in my life at that time. Bouquet started ten years ago. And in a way it tells the story of my last ten years – my divorce and my new found love. Four years ago I really started writing songs. And coincidentally, four years ago I got engaged to the only person in the world who really loved me and showed me what love feels like. So of course I write about it. Because it means the world to me. And because I wanted to understand the me of that time better.

Your husband Blake Shelton is also a very successful musician. You also worked together on Bouquet – did it always go smoothly and harmoniously?

Hey, we’ve only been married for three years, so hopefully everything is going smoothly and harmoniously. (laughs) We have been together for over nine years and I believe that when you find your best friend, you have fun even in the hard times. Because you have each other and because life is never easy. And that is the dream we all dream, isn’t it?

In a recent interview to The Guardian to talk about her new album ‘Bouquet’, Gwen Stefani mentioned her relationship with Blake Shelton, check it out below:

What drew you towards flowers as inspiration for your new album, Bouquet?
Meeting my husband [country singer Blake Shelton] felt like a second chance at life, because when my family fell apart [Stefani was married to Bush’s lead singer, Gavin Rossdale, for 12 years; they have three children] it was a catastrophe. How do you pick yourself up from that? But God put this other person there to love me. I know this sounds weird, but Blake and I came together in gardening. We have a house together in Oklahoma and during the pandemic we came across this very old building on the land and there were some purple irises, which someone must have planted centuries ago, but they’ve survived. I wrote the song Purple Irises about that and how it feels to find true love and the insecurities of not wanting to lose it.

Would you do an album of country duets with your husband?
I would love to. I never listened to country music, so while Blake was super successful, I never even knew he existed before I met him. When he heard Purple Irises, he loved it so much he ended up singing on it. I love singing with him. He’s very humble and doesn’t realise how good he is. There’s something so attractive about that.
